Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend  Next Entry

Okay, my hardwood floor fixation has gotten so dire I'm seriously considering moving JUST because I want hardwood floors that badly. I hate that my carpet and walls are the exact same color. I also want to move because it would give me the opportunity to design an apartment a second time. And, thirdly, because I am incredibly lonely living alone and am thinking that moving to a two-bedroom might work out much, much better--even though I would keep mainly to myself, just having another person in the relative vicinity would be comforting. Also, I would save several hundred dollars' worth of rent per month.

So, any Baltimorean takers? I make a quiet, agreeable flatmate, and I already possess all necessary furniture. :)

I think my current roommate may be checking out soon. I got worried about Nigel recently because one day recently, I picked him up and he was light as a feather. I always suspected one of my first two mice died because his teeth got too long (which causes rodents to be unable to eat--this is why you need to give them foods they can gnaw on--to trim their teeth) and he died of starvation. :\ Luckily, he seems to have gained weight back recently, but I know he's also near the end of the dwarf hamster lifespan, and I keep dreading reaching into the cage only to find that he has died. I don't spend a ton of time with him, but I sure am going to miss Nigel when he's gone. :(

In other news, I got a clothing rack to expand my closet space! I like to keep my living space clean, so having more closet space frees up my floor space (except for the hanger).

I hope Nigel pulls through. :\

You should get a roommate, it'll definitely help with the loneliness. In fact, if you're like me, you'll appreciate your alone-time that much more.

Thank you for the v-gift, haha. :) I will cherish it.

Yeah, how was it making a move? Did it take you awhile to get used to the change?

I'm glad you liked the gift :)

Honestly, I've never lived alone. I went from my mom's house to living with my aunt, her roommate, and two (then three) little barky dogs. Then I moved here to Steve's. Actually, at this rate, the next place I live will have like 6 people living in it, which I would hate.

The most "alone" I've ever been was either living at my mom's when she was single (because she frequently was at work, leaving me alone in the house, which I love), or living at my aunt's because I was alone maybe half the time.

Although a lot of times, when I get on a night-owl bender and never seen the sun, it's like living alone, but having paper-thin walls and trying not to disturb the neighbors. Personally, I love that the most. The only trick is to remember to get out of the house sometimes and see other people, or else I go a little crazy. It's easy to start thinking you're the only real person in the world and everyone else is just imaginary. :p

I hope Nigel gets better! Give him a cuddle for me!

I really want a clothes rack. I'm jealous. ;)

Man, move to NY so we can room together and live in hardwood, well-decored bliss! Mr. McQueen will surely make us his walking billboards then! ;)

could we be roomates? would that be weird? esp if i work in baltimore county next year.... that might be kindof fabulous. or it might ruin our friendship :P what do you think (if i stay in the area)?

and i completely understand if you shoot down the idea. i will not read any tone into any lj comments/texts/phone calls against it :)

I'm sorry, it wouldn't work out. I love your cat, but I'm allergic, so I can only bear with it for brief periods of time. But if you ever do decide to move into the city, I'd be happy to give you tips on places. :)

The first picture is definitely NOT my place. The second picture, mine. Oh man, it would make my life to have a place like the first. I love exposed brick walls.

I think we've discussed most of the rest of the subject matter of your comments. And Nigel is doing well ;)

You are my #1 choice for a roommate! We have such similar style, I can only imagine how much fun we'd have decorating. And of course, duh, BFF. ♥

I don't think Nigel is in any pain, not to worry. He's probably getting a little old and creaky. But he's still just as mischievous as ever. ;)

I really hope Nigel gets better!!

Also, my friend from high school, one of my best friends (she was the one putting on my bridal shower) is moving to Baltimore to go to law school! She might be a good roommate, and I know she was hoping to find someone! If you're interested, let me know via email and I can arrange a meeting or something!
